4. Payment Terms and Conditions
Fees for our services will be disclosed at the time of registration, quotation, invoice, proposal, or agreement. Unless otherwise stated, all fees are quoted in Canadian dollars (CAD).
- Payment is due in full by the deadline stated on the invoice or registration page.
- We may require a deposit or full prepayment to secure a booking.
- Late payments may result in suspension of access, cancellation of participation, or application of administrative fees, interest, or collection costs to the extent permitted by law and disclosed in advance where required.
- Prices may be subject to applicable federal and provincial taxes, including GST/HST, which will be added where required by law.
- If a payment is reversed, declined, disputed without reasonable basis, or charged back improperly, you remain responsible for the outstanding amount and any related fees permitted by law.
For corporate, group, or custom engagements, payment milestones, cancellation rights, and deliverables may be set out in a separate written agreement, proposal, or statement of work. If there is any conflict between these Terms and a signed agreement, the signed agreement will prevail to the extent of the conflict.
5. Cancellation and Refund Policy
Cancellation and refund terms may vary depending on the type of service purchased. Unless a program-specific policy states otherwise, the following general policy applies:
- Customer cancellations must be submitted in writing to our contact email.
- Refund eligibility may depend on the amount of notice provided before the scheduled start date.
- Administrative fees, processing fees, non-refundable deposits, and third-party costs may be deducted from any approved refund, where permitted by law.
- Failure to attend a session, workshop, or program does not automatically entitle you to a refund.
- If we cancel a service and cannot offer a reasonable rescheduling or alternative arrangement, you may be entitled to a refund for the unused portion of fees paid, subject to applicable law and any third-party costs already incurred on your behalf.
For online or digital materials, access may be deemed delivered once login credentials, download access, or streaming access is provided. In such cases, refunds may be limited or unavailable except as required by law or expressly stated otherwise.
Any refund request will be reviewed within a reasonable time. Approved refunds will generally be processed using the original payment method unless otherwise agreed.
6. Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable Canadian law, NorthStar Business Academy Inc., its directors, officers, employees, contractors, instructors, facilitators, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, loss of business opportunities, loss of goodwill, or loss of data, arising out of or relating to your use of our services.
Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising from or relating to the services shall not exceed the amount actually paid by you for the specific service giving rise to the claim, except where such limitation is prohibited by law.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, gross negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
You acknowledge that participation in workshops, training, seminars, and coaching may involve the sharing of business ideas, operational challenges, and personal or professional experiences. You are solely responsible for decisions, actions, and outcomes resulting from your use of our services or materials.
